Soul Quest
3: Dream Quest
by Bud Lemire on May 12,
2004
The dark
skies got darker, blackening into night
Bud made a
comment, “Wish I had my flashlight”
“All life
is about to end,” Nelak said with an evil tone
Out of her
pocket, she pulled out some old bird’s bones
Angelica and
Bud stepped back, as they noticed the change
The red glow
in her eyes, Nelak was acting very strange
Bud noticed
Angelica was in some sort of a trance
While off in
the distance, Nelak did an unusual dance
He put his
hands on Angelica’s shoulder, and her eyes opened wide
She
whispered, “I’ve been in touch with the spirits on the inside”
Then out of
nowhere came these coils of bright white light
They wrapped
around Nelak, and they held her tight
“Patrick?”
Bud asked Angelica as he started to smile
“Yes,”
replied Angelica, “he’s been with us for awhile”
Bud asked,
“Did he tell you of anything we can do?”
“He did,”
she said, “but it’s going to be up to you”
“It seems,”
she continued, “she’s had some trouble to sleep”
“And now
she’s gone further, and went a little too deep”
“Spirits
tell me you have the gift to enter one’s dream”
“And you
guide souls to safety, strange as it seems”
“Yes,
strange,” Bud responded, “I don’t remember them all, or what I
do”
“But tell
me dear Angelica, while I’m doing that, what about you?”
She replied,
“I’ll be sending you energy, to help your soul get through”
She
continued, “And Patrick and the spirits, will be helping us too”
“Now is the
time!” Bud exclaimed, “Let’s save our friend!”
“Remember
to limit,” Angelica added, “the time that you spend”
Then not long
later, Bud had fallen fast asleep
Angelica took
his hand in hers and started to weep
Bud found
himself at some sort of carnival show
And started
searching for Nelak, high and low
He had no
idea, just where to start
Then
suddenly, he felt her in his heart
A flicker of
light, then caught his eye
“The House
Of Mirrors, is where I got to try"
“But as I
look in the mirror, I only see me”
“I wonder
where Nelak, was going to be”
As he looked
in the next mirror, his eyes showed red
“I’ve
come to set her free!” is what he said
“You can’t
scare me, I know no fear!”
Then he hit,
and broke the mirror
Then he was
in a darkened room, without any light
Faces
appeared, and then disappeared from his sight
He knew the
faces he saw, and knew what to do
“Face me
you coward, I’m not scared of you!”
The faces
appeared again, illusions of his own face
“I must
free Nelak, from this horrible place!”
A message
from Angelica, “Prepare to act”
Bud suddenly
felt something, fall on his back
It was a red
eyed Nelak, looking for a fight
His right
hand took on, a bright white light
As he
wrestled with her, he placed his right hand on her head
She stopped
struggling and fighting, and seemed to relax instead
The redness
in Nelak’s eyes, started to fade away
And the
darkness of night, became the light of day
Bud picked up
Nelak, from where she lay on the ground
And he
noticed, she was starting to come around
“Where are
we?” she asked, as she looked ahead
“What’s
the last thing you remember?” was what he said
“I was
wearing the necklace,” she replied, “but it got stuck”
“I took it
off, and then it’s from there I don’t remember much”
"How do
I get out of here?” he asked the skies
Angelica’s
voice responded, “Just open your eyes”
Bud opened
his eyes, and looked across the room
Angelica was
holding Nelak, whistling a happy tune
Bud looked up
at the sky, lit up by the sun
And
whispered, “Thanks God, I owe you one”
I hope everyone likes the ending.
