Suicide Lament

Suicide Lament

by Bud Lemire on Nov 2, 2004

When someone wants to cut their wrist

Or something which is similar to this

When life seems too hard to cope

And they think of hanging from a rope

What they need is all our love

To banish thoughts they're thinking of

So they can have back all their pride

And they can once again feel good inside

What makes them feel the way they do

How can our love reach on through

To let them know we really care

And that our love is always there

Sometimes it's the people they're around

Wherever slashed wrists will be found

A tragic way for a life to end

When all they needed was a friend

But no one listened and no one heard

The sadness expressed in every word

If only we would take the time

To help them when they send a sign

Let's take away their pain and cries

Enlighten their darkness with beautiful skies

For somehow there must be a way

To let them know, there are better days

Let's send our thoughts and prayers, so they will know

So all of our love, will help them grow

And all the love, that has been sent

Will put an end, to their Suicide Lament

I have read some poetry by people here about cutting and slashing wrists,

ending life, giving up, and all the pain they've gone through.

I wrote this poem for them. For they need hope, they need to feel loved,

they need to live again. Let's send them our love and prayers. ~Bud~
