A Cousin's Birthday

A Cousin's Birthday

© 2002 by Bud Lemire

Each Birth

on this Earth

Has so much worth

As I am told

As we grow old

The price in gold

Until we fold

Oh how the days

And ancestry ways

Forever stays

For we are we

And can we see

To forever be

Cousins touch

In blood and such

Relatives love you very much

As days ahead

So much is said

Until we lay our head

Our spirits led

Hearts are here

To love them dear

And bring them cheer

Without the fear

A Birthday Cake

Without the ache

For goodness sake

And a handshake

A hug for you

A missing clue

With all anew

And love that's true

A Birthday Wish

With food on dish

No smell of fish

And doesn't squish

Love from the heart

Upon your chart

Life is an art

We end, we re-start

May this day be bright

With all your might

You have the right

Embrace love's light

Happy Birthday, goodnight
