A Wink Of A Guy

A Wink Of A Guy

© 2001 by Bud Lemire

Dave's spirit began long ago, with his birth

Which started his life, on this great planet Earth

He grew up to be, a great man indeed

And started his own family, for them he did feed

He worked at Mead, as a Sanitation Engineer

Oh his days off, he relaxed with a beer

Sometimes you'd catch him, watching the Packers play

If they won the game, then it sure made his day

He would be bowling, golfing, or throwing horseshoes eith the boys

Or work on a puzzle, play electronic Yahtzee, or something else he enjoys

Maybe you might see him, reading by the light

From a Louis L'Amour book, deep into the night

Tom, Ramona, Rose, Marion, Dorothy, and John are names in his life

Two are his parents, some are his siblings, and one is his wife

The children they raised together, are Jim, Terry, & Dan

They follow in his footsteps, the best that they can

Working on puzzles, word searches, and jigsaws too

Watching the weather channel, to see the forecast review

Going to the Casino, seeing if he'll win anything

Sometimes he likes to see, what each new day will bring

Those he has touched, in their lives every day

Know him on the inside, and glad he came their way

You can look low, or you can look high

But if you know Dave Winker, he's one Wink Of A Guy

My Sister-in-Law Terry Winker asked me to write this about

her Dad Dave, so I did. She helped with the information.
