This is a poem for a Quebecois friend

A cousin as well, who some time I did spend

Our surname researcher, compiler of facts

Hitting the books, on the library racks

Association genealogist, of our family lore

History of the Lemire family, and what went on before

I met him in person, in 2001

At the Lemire Gathering, which was lots of fun

And then in Montreal, where I did stay

We spent time together, for an entire day

Going by subway, all over the big city

He gave me the grand tour, it sure was pretty

Mosaics in every shape and size

And to the library, a pleasant surprise

Then it was time, for our time to end

Enjoyed all the time, with my cousin, my friend

We share lots of information, of our family tree

And pass it around, for others to see

Michel, merci beaucoup, for all that you share

You sure have your portion, of family savoir-faire

It was great to spend a day in Montreal with Michel.

He's put out several books on the Lemire Families.
