Thank
You Dear Lord (For Jeannie)
©1999 by Bud Lemire
Thank you,
for bringing this special person this way
Our sister,
to be with us on this special day
Thank you,
for letting us see what we see
The wonderful
person that she came to be
Thank you for
opening the door, and the window too
Thank you for
letting us see, all that is true
Thank you for
giving her, a heart that is so kind
A good soul,
a good spirit, and a good mind
Thank you for
the hugs, that she gave us so free
Thank you for
the feelings of love, deep inside of me
Thank you for
this reunion, that I was part of
Thank you my
ancestors, Angels from above
Thank you for
sending, her to us on this day
To be with
us, in each and every way
Let any
doubts, that were there before
Be gone from
our minds, and pushed out the door
Let your love
guide us, together again
A special
giving person, who's also my friend
Thank you, oh
thank you, sister of my blood
You've
bloomed into a flower, that started with a bud
Thank you
dear lord, for guiding her right
And bringing
her love, into the light
This
poem was written after the 1999 Thanksgiving meal with
Jeannie
among us. It started out with confusion, for Jeannie
was
crying down at the park near the Water Plant, because Mom
hadn't
invited her here for the meal. But Mom thought she already
knew
she was coming here. After she returned to her room where
she
was staying, we invited her, and it all went well from there.
