Seaside
Honeymoon
© 2002 by Bud Lemire
We had a
Seaside Honeymoon, down on the Oregon coast
Right on the
Pacific Ocean, with the woman I love the most
Woke up to
the seagulls on the roof, and gave them bread
It wasn't
time to get up yet, so we went back to bed
We went to
Tillamook, to see the cheese factory
We saw them
making cheese, for you and for me
We got to see
the Octopus Tree, before we came back
The winds
blew the waves strongly, as a matter of fact
We ate brunch
at the Shilo, they had some good meals
Then we were
at the Aquarium, feeding water splashing seals
We had our
photo taken, dressed as people of long ago
And visited
many shops, to see what they had to show
We left
Seaside, and took in sightseeing on our way back
Shopping in
several books stores, with many books on the rack
Saw two more
lighthouses, we climbed high to get up there
And visited
the Lewis & Clark museum, they were quite a pair
With the
ocean's winds, and the waves crashing upon the shore
There were so
many sights we had to take in, who could ask for more
With the
woman I love, to each other we're in tune
We enjoyed
every moment, on our Seaside Honeymoon
I remember I had a
toothache on this honeymoon. So I ate pancakes
at the Shilo in
Seaside. Also, on the way back, a lighthouse we had
stopped at and we took
pictures at, I recently found it, is called Cape
Disappointment. English
Captain John Meares missed the passage over
the river bar and named
the nearby headland Cape Disappointment for
his failure in finding
the river. American Captain Robert Gray successfully
crossed the river bar
and named the river "Columbia" after his ship, the
Columbia Rediviva.
