The
Beauty Of Washington
©2002 by Bud Lemire
Driving down
each road, taking it wherever it will go
To the
waterfront, where the Puget Sound waters flow
Picking
blackberries along the roads, that are found everywhere
Everyone has
a container, to pick all of their share
Mountains in
the distance, oh what a view to see
Snow capped
with pink sunset, a beautiful place to be
Airplanes
flying overhead, so high up in the sky
Apples to be
picked, for juices and for pie
The Pacific
Ocean on the western coast, of this wondrous state
Seattle is
the heart, that makes this place so great
Forests and
parks, where campers always dwell
The
“Evergreen State,” caught up in its spell
With British
Columbia, Canadian neighbor on the north side
Oregon and
Idaho, borders shared with pride
The Ferry
that carries people, across the waterway
Brings a
special kind of feel, to each and every day
Across the
Narrows bridge, to a place that's not too big
Coming from
Tacoma, we enter the Harbor of the Gig
Where beauty
holds you, deep within each glance
And makes you
feel much better, to take on life's dance
I was glad to have had
the chance to see the beauty of
Washington state. To
experience the sensations of being
right there and seeing
each beauty up close, and to take
in the magical moment
of each.
