The
Dentist
© 2002 by Bud Lemire
Do you have
an ache, in your teeth somewhere
These are the
people, who can help you there
They take
pride in their care, and do really great work
And will find
all your pains, wherever they lurk
Never been to
a Dentist since my childhood, so I should know
But I went to
see them, I gave it a go
It wasn't
them I was afraid of, but the fear deep inside
The terrible
aches in my teeth, many times I had cried
Being free of
that pain, is a wonderful thing
Why cry at
the moon, when it's better to sing
So, come on
in, and let them get rid of your ache
They
photograph each tooth, and know which ones to take
They're like
carpenters inside your mouth, with the tools that they use
And they know
what instruments, that they want to choose
They numb
your mouth, so you don't feel the pain
Deleting all
the feelings, just under your brain
Whatever
you're going for, whatever it can be
These are the
people, that you've got to see
If your life
is being controlled, by a really bad toothache
Then get rid
of it now, with the appointment you make
They've
gotten much better with changes, over the years
And to think,
I was so afraid, with my childhood fears
Sometimes those fears
never leave. But they have come
a long ways. Many of
them make sure they numb your
mouth good before
starting. After all, they have to have
a good reputation so
more people come back to them.
