The
Dream

I had a dream
about you, late last year
You were in
the hospital, I was feeling fear
The fear was
of the waiting, and the anxiety of all this
A warm
feeling touched me, like a pleasant touching kiss
You carried a
blanket, telling me to look inside
Pulling back
the covers, your smile had grown wide
Telling me to
look, at the baby and our child
Had this
woman gone crazy, my mind was racing wild
For deep
inside this bundle, was a little baby kitten
From the look
on your face, I knew that you'd been smitten
You looked at
me, for words that should be said
Thinking of
an answer, I must have gone brain dead
Then all at
once, the answer came to me
"the
baby must have come, from your side of the tree"
You frowned
at this, then smiled once again
And I was
feeling happy, to have such a special friend
Well, actually in my
mind, she slapped me after I said
"the baby must
have come, from your side of the tree.”
But maybe I was wrong.
