The Ear

We depend so
much upon the ear
So many
things that we can hear
We listen to
the voices when people talk
Or the
footsteps of the people as they walk
The sound of
someone tooting their car horn
Or thunder
heard in a rain storm
The creaking
of an opening or shutting door
There's so
many things our ears are for
Oh, let's not
forget the music that we hear
That touches
our soul when it reaches our ear
And they help
keep the glasses upon our face
Without them
there, they'd be out of place
Some are big
and some are small
Others stick
out and we see it all
In cold
weather we have to cover them up
With
something warm, like an ear muff
The ears tune
into what they want to hear
Sometimes
though, it won't come in clear
We owe so
much to the ear, it's true
If you have
an ear, I can read this poem to you
When you have your
hearing, then your ear
is working good. You
can use it and enjoy it
for all those things
above and more.
